On September 4–5, 2025, in Vladivostok (Russian Federation), Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Sohail Khan took part in the Eastern Economic Forum.
In his speech at the session “Greater Eurasian Partnership: new paradigms for continental development”, the Deputy Secretary-General noted that ensuring economic and financial stability, forming a secure, open, balanced and inclusive regional order are among the key priorities of the SCO. He emphasized that achieving sustainable economic growth is possible only through consistent efforts to deepen regional integration, develop transport, production, and trade connectivity, as well as strengthen humanitarian ties.

The speaker stressed that combining large-scale national initiatives and projects, including with the participation of SCO member states, opens up broad prospects. In this regard, the Greater Eurasian Partnership can become the basis and effective platform for practical cooperation in the areas of transport and logistics, energy, e-commerce, industry, agriculture, digital technology development, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
On September 5, 2025, the Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO took part in the plenary session of the EEF. At the opening ceremony, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of Mongolia Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene, and Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Li Hongzhong delivered welcoming speeches.
