On September 4, 2025, in Tashkent, at the initiative of the Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Uzbekistan, a round table was organized on the topic “SCO in Action: New Uzbekistan Initiatives,” within the framework of which representatives from ministries and agencies, public organizations, members of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, experts, and journalists discussed the outcomes of the 25th meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the SCO and the “SCO Plus” format meeting (Tianjin, August 31 – September 1, 2025).
Deputy Secretary General Piao Yangfan, in her video address to the participants of the event, provided a detailed briefing on the results of the recent SCO summit, focusing on the initiatives put forward by the heads of member states.

Significant, content-rich, and practically oriented proposals from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, were noted, covering key areas of cooperation: strengthening political engagement, improving security mechanisms, deepening economic integration, and expanding humanitarian ties.
Kabuljon Sabirov, Director of the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy in Uzbekistan, highlighted Uzbekistan’s noticeably growing international standing and its active involvement in regional and international processes. The essence of the initiatives led by Uzbekistan’s leadership aimed at strengthening the political and economic foundations of the Organization was presented.
During the discussion, participants of the round table agreed that the Tianjin Summit marked an important step toward reinforcing a multipolar world and deepening multifaceted cooperation within the SCO space, and they reaffirmed the Organization’s crucial role in ensuring regional stability and prosperity.
