On August 27, 2025, in Cairo, Egypt, SCO Deputy Secretary General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda held a meeting with Khaled Ali El-Bakly, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
During the discussions, there was an exchange of views on the state and prospects of the interaction between the SCO and Egypt, with emphasis on the implementation of the Memorandum on granting Egypt the status of an SCO Dialogue Partner and the Road Map for strengthening cooperation between SCO member states and Dialogue Partners.
On September 17, 2021, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, the SCO Council of Heads of State Members decided to grant the Arab Republic of Egypt the status of SCO Dialogue Partner.
On September 14, 2022, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, a Memorandum was signed granting the Arab Republic of Egypt the status of an SCO Development Partner.
