On August 26, 2025, at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), in Beijing, Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev met with the delegation of the General Office of the People’s Republic of China for Publications and Distribution of Literature in Foreign Languages, led by the head of the Europe and Asia Broadcasting Center, Jiang Yonggan.
The guests briefed the Secretary General on the main tasks and priorities of the Office’s activities. Jiang Yonggan specially noted the high level of cooperation with the SCO Secretariat and assured continued readiness to strengthen working interaction.
The Secretary General, in turn, informed about forthcoming major events in the Organization, including the Council of the Heads of State meeting in Tianjin on August 31 – September 1 of the current year. He also shared plans for organizing events dedicated to celebrating the 25th anniversary of the SCO in 2026.
Following the conversation, a series of books about China, published in the languages of SCO member states, was presented to the Secretariat’s library. The most valuable gift was the recently released fifth volume of the monograph “Xi Jinping on State Governance.”
