On August 25, 2025, in Beijing, Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Nurlan Yermekbayev participated as an honorary guest of the SCO Forum, organized by the Media Corporation of China and the Organization's Secretariat.
The event, held under the slogan “Harmony and Unity: Creating the future together,” brought together more than 150 high–ranking guests - heads of leading media outlets, representatives of government departments and the diplomatic corps from the SCO “community” countries. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif sent messages of welcome.

During the Forum, the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) informed about the current state and prospects of cooperation within the Organization in the cultural-humanitarian direction. It was specifically emphasized that such cooperation, which forms the conditions for proximity of peoples, strengthens trust and mutual understanding, and advances the ideals of peace and good-neighborliness, is a priority for the SCO.
Stressing the crucial role of mass media in promoting humanitarian exchanges, Nurlan Yermekbayev spoke about the work carried out by the member states and the Secretariat of the Organization to promote the SCO’s image, including in the online space. The need to intensify interaction between the mass media of SCO member states was noted.

As part of the meeting, a broadcasting ceremony for the television project “Heritage Keeper” was launched in SCO member countries and programs were demonstrated, including the campaign “SCO Youth: Time to Act”.
