On August 22, 2025, in Qingdao, PRC, the "Week of Screenings of Outstanding Films and Television Works of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Countries" was opened, organized with the participation of the Media Corporation of China, the government of Shandong Province, and the city of Qingdao.
In his video address to the guests, SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev noted that the current event, which brought together more than thirty vivid works, demonstrates the cultural diversity and rich creative potential of the SCO countries. He emphasized that the cultural and humanitarian sphere has been and remains a priority area of cooperation within the Organization, and the "Week of Screenings" has become an important platform for a lively dialogue of cultures, for the exchange of experience among cinema and television masters, and for the establishment of contacts between creative and business circles.
It was underlined that humanitarian cooperation has traditionally occupied an important place in the Organization’s activities. Among recent events were the SCO Film Festival in Chongqing, within the framework of which 48 films were presented, as well as the Second Television Festival of SCO Countries in Xi’an, which brought together more than 40 visual projects.
