On August 22, 2025, at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Beijing, a meeting was held between SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev and the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the city of Jingdezhen (Jiangxi Province, PRC), Mr. Li Zong.
The guest informed about the current socio-economic development of the city, including taking into account its role as the "world capital of porcelain" and the cradle of numerous cultural traditions, as well as preparations for the International Ceramic Expo, which will take place in October this year. The exhibition traditionally brings together leading masters, experts, and entrepreneurs in the field of ceramics, providing a significant platform for cultural and trade exchanges.
The interlocutors emphasized that humanitarian cooperation, including in the cultural sphere, occupies an important place in the activities of the SCO, which contributes to strengthening mutual understanding and trust among the peoples of the Organization’s member states. In this context, the holding of such large-scale cultural events was noted as a meaningful direction of SCO’s work, facilitating the consolidation of mutual understanding between nations.
The parties expressed their readiness to continue developing cooperation within the framework of the organization.
