On August 18, 2025, at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing, the Secretary General Nurlan Ermekbayev met with Her Excellency and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the People's Republic of China, Mrs. Soeng Ratchavy.
The interlocutors discussed issues of enhancing cooperation between the SCO and Cambodia on the basis of the Memorandum on Granting Cambodia the status of an SCO Dialogue Partner from 2015, including further strengthening ties between the Embassy and the SCO Secretariat. The parties also touched upon the cooperation between the SCO and ASEAN.
The Secretary General spoke about the preparations for the meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States and related events to be held on August 31 - September 1 in Tianjin, China.
The conversation took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere.
