On August 12, 2025, at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing, SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the People's Republic of China, Selcuk Unal.
After wishing the head of the diplomatic mission success in his work, N. Yermekbayev shared information about the multifaceted activities of the SCO, as well as about preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of State and related events scheduled for August 31 – September 1 in Tianjin.
In turn, S. Unal confirmed Turkey’s readiness to expand cooperation within the framework of the SCO as a dialogue partner in areas of mutual interest.
