On July 17, 2025, in Beijing, SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev took part in the opening ceremony of the SCO Business Forum, organized by the Chinese Committee for the Promotion of International Trade and the Chinese Chamber of International Commerce. The event was opened by Gao Yunlong, Deputy Chairman of the National Committee of the People's Political Consultative Conference of China.
The forum, which was held under the motto "Promoting the Shanghai Spirit: Business Circles in Action," was attended by representatives of government agencies, diplomatic missions, business and expert circles of the SCO member states.
N.Yermekbayev welcomed the participants of the event, highlighting the key role of the business community in the development of trade and economic cooperation of the SCO.
The prospects for more active use of the potential of the Business Council, the Interbank Association and the SCO Investors Association in practical cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint pilot projects of medium scale in priority sectors of the economy under their auspices, were noted.
The ceremony was also attended by Sergey Tsivilev, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Li Qingshuang, Deputy Chairman of the Chinese Committee for the Promotion of International Trade, Temir Sariev, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sergey Katyrin, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, Xi Guohua, Chairman of the Board of the China International Trust and Investment Corporation, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and Liu Jun, Presidentof the Commercial and Industrial Bankof China.
The forum included thematic sessions on sustainable development, green transformation, and supply chain maintenance.
