July 15-16, 2025 in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province (China) Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Batir Tursunov took part in the Second SCO Television Festival on the theme "Uniting Civilizations: Audiovisual cooperation for a Shared Future".
The event was organized by the General Directorate of Radio and Television Broadcasting of the People's Republic of China, the People's Government of Shaanxi Province and the SCO Secretariat.
At the opening ceremony of the Festival, Cao Shumin, Director of the General Directorate of Broadcasting and Television of China, and Zhao Gang, Governor of Shaanxi Province, greeted the delegates.

In his speech, Batir Tursunov stressed that the SCO pays special attention to issues of promoting cooperation in the television industry. In particular, in 2019, an agreement was signed between the governments of the SCO member states on cooperation in the field of mass media.
The Deputy Secretary General expressed the hope that the media of the countries of the "Shosovsky community" would comprehensively cover the activities of the Organization, popularize its goals and principles, thereby creating a favorable atmosphere for the development of multifaceted cooperation. At the same time, the importance of accelerating the modernization and digitalization of the television industry, increasing cooperation in the field of personnel training, as well as deepening ties between young journalists was noted.
B. Tursunov stressed that the SCO Television Festival, established in 2023, has managed to become one of the most attractive platforms for interaction within the Organization, and called for the implementation of the joint declaration adopted at the event.

On the eve of the 2nd SCO Television Festival, Batir Tursunov held a meeting with Cao Shumin, Director of the General Directorate for Broadcasting and Television of China. The sides exchanged views on the further development of bilateral cooperation.
The event was attended by about 300 delegates from 19 SCO countries, heads of reputable media, Chinese and foreign scientists, as well as representatives of the television industry.
