On July 16, 2025, Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Nurlan Yermekbayev met with member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi in Tianjin.
The Secretary General congratulated his interlocutor on the successful holding of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO member States, held on July 15, 2025 in Tianjin. He assured of the readiness of the SCO Secretariat to provide comprehensive assistance to the substantive preparation and holding of the upcoming SCO Tianjin Summit.
The Chinese Foreign Minister highly appreciated the efforts of the SCO Secretariat under the leadership of the Secretary General to ensure the effective functioning and improvement of the Organization's activities.
An exchange of views took place on topical issues of the current agenda of the Organization and the conditions of stay(work) of the SCO Secretariat.
