On July 15, 2025, regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states was held in Tianjin under the chairmanship of the China.
It was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus M.V.Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India S.Jaishankar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran A.Araqchi, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan M.A.Nurtleu, Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic J.M.Kulubayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan M.I.Dar, Permanent Member of the Security Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan S.Muhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan B.O.Saidov, as well as the SCO Secretary General N.B.Yermekbayev and the Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) The SCO U.Z.Sharsheev.
During the meeting, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs exchanged views on priority areas of cooperation between the SCO member states in the new conditions, as well as on current international and regional issues. The current state and prospects for the development of SCO cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as the most important aspects of improving the Organization's activities were discussed.
Special attention was paid to the substantive content of the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States (Tianjin, autumn 2025). The drafts of the Tianjin Declaration, a number of thematic statements by leaders, and other documents and decisions were adopted as a basis.
The Report of the SCO Secretary General on the work of the Secretariat has been approved.
At the end of the event, SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a joint press conference.
