On July 9, 2025, SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev met with senior officials of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, headed by Director of the Department of Eurasian Affairs Liu Xuesong.
The Secretary General thanked his Chinese colleagues for their active work under the chairmanship and informed them of the Secretariat's readiness to fully continue its support in relevant areas of activity within the framework of the SCO working mechanisms. He noted the need for practical implementation of the Organization's activities in the economic field, according to the previously set course of the leaders.
N.Yermekbayev spoke about the work aimed at improving the effectiveness of meetings of heads of ministries and departments.
The Director of the Department for Eurasian Affairs informed about the events held and upcoming through the Ministry of Commerce, expressed hope for the earliest possible coordination of trade, economic and investment-related documents planned for approval at the SCO Summit this year, and also invited the Secretary General to the upcoming events this year.
The meeting was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere.
