July 7, 2025 in Yekaterinburg (Russian Federation) the 3rd Meeting of Industry Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member States was held on the sidelines of the XV International INNOPROM Industrial Exhibition, chaired by the Russia.
The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Industry of the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Deputy Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information of the People's Republic of China, as well as representatives of the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Iran at the level of Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in the Russian Federation.
The heads of delegation discussed the prospects for further development of cooperation within the SCO, taking into account the significant potential and existing capabilities of the member states in the field of industry. The sides exchanged views on industrial modernization, investment attraction, opportunities for the formation of industrial clusters and the development of modern innovative technologies.
The heads of delegations approved the "Rules of Procedure of the SCO Permanent Working Group on Industry" and the "Regulations on the organization of congress and exhibition events under the auspices of the Meeting of Ministers of Industry of the SCO Member States." It was decided to continue work on the draft "Regulations on the Database of investment projects in the industrial sector of the SCO member States".
In his speech, SCO Deputy Secretary General Sohail Khan noted the relevance of adopting relevant documents in the field of industry and stressed the importance of increasing the practical impact of the relevant mechanism in the context of the ongoing highway modernization course.
Following the results of the event, a Protocol was signed.
A delegation from the SCO Secretariat also took part in the events of the XV International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM.
