On July 2, 2025, the 40th meeting of the Special Working Group on Customs Cooperation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was held in Qingdao under the chairmanship of the Russia in hybrid format.
The experts discussed a wide range of issues in order to ensure coordination of joint actions of the customs services in priority areas. In the context of improving the activities of the Task Force, an exchange of views took place on the expediency of creating competent expert groups for the suppression of customs offenses, as well as the preliminary exchange of customs data.
The parties considered the initiative on the mutual application of electronic systems of certification of the origin of goods within the framework of the "Single Window" systems and supported the proposal of the China to organize an appropriate thematic seminar for the SCO countries.
Following the meeting, a protocol was signed.
The next meeting of the Task Force is scheduled to be held in December 2025 in the Russian Federation.
