On June 28, 2025, the opening ceremony of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries' sculpture exhibition "Light of Unity in Harmony," organized by the SCO Secretariat and the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, took place in Qingdao, PRC.
In his speech, SCO Secretariat Advisor Kazybek Kochkonov noted that China's presidency of the Organization in 2024–2025, held under the slogan "Promoting the 'Shanghai Spirit': SCO in Action," gives new impetus to the development of humanitarian cooperation among member states. Thanks to the rich program of events implemented by China, the role of culture as an important tool for strengthening mutual understanding, trust, and good-neighbourliness among SCO countries is enhanced.
Confidence was expressed that this exhibition will make a tangible contribution to the further development of cultural dialogue within the SCO space.
The "Light of Unity in Harmony" sculpture exhibition will run until July 6.
