On May 14-16, 2025, the 8th meeting of the Special Working Group of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States on Electronic Commerce was held in Qingdao, China. The event was attended by representatives of China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and officials of the SCO Secretariat. Experts from Kyrgyzstan and Russia joined the meeting in the online format.
The experts discussed the prospects of strengthening cooperation in the field of e-commerce, exchanged best practices on employment promotion, promotion of women's entrepreneurship, integration of small and medium-sized businesses through the establishment of regional cooperation in the field of e-commerce. Consultations on the documents initiated by the parties were held, the presentation “E-commerce of the Silk Road” took place.
On the margins of the event, business contacts were organized between companies specializing in e-commerce.
