On 13-15 May 2025, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Military Medical Symposium was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China, organized by the Chinese Ministry of Defense, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force of the People's Republic of China and the PLA Air Force University of Military Medicine.
More than 100 representatives of military medical departments and experts from Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Sri Lanka, as well as officials from the Organization's Secretariat took part in the event, which was dedicated to the theme “Jointly Building the SCO Community of Common Destiny: Contributions in the Field of Military Medicine”.
During the discussions, experts from the “SCO community” countries exchanged best practices in various areas of military medicine, such as organ transplantation and treatment of brain and combat trauma. Information on unmanned and aerospace medical equipment was also presented.
The delegates unanimously confirmed their commitment to further realization of the SCO potential in the sphere of military-medical cooperation.
