SCO International Issyk-Kul Marathon

On May 3, 2025, in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization International Issyk-Kul Marathon – "Run the Silk Road – 2025" took place, organized by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Marathon Directorate.

Around 3 thousand athletes from various countries of the world participated in this vibrant sports event. During the closing ceremony, SCO Secretariat Advisor Behrooz Mokhtari presented awards to the winners of the competitions.

The SCO International Issyk-Kul Marathon is a traditional event within the framework of the Organization, contributing to the popularization of a healthy lifestyle, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the member states.
