On May 2–3, 2025, the 2nd International Medical Congress of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states and the annual International Conference of Cardiologists of Uzbekistan titled “Modern Cardiology: from Prevention to High Technologies” were held in Tashkent.
The organizers were the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Cardiology, and the Association of Cardiologists of Uzbekistan together with medical communities of the SCO member states.
At the opening ceremony of the Congress, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Asilbek Khudayrov, delivered a speech.

In his speech, SCO Deputy Secretary-General Sohail Khan emphasized the pressing need to conduct specialized events that promote expert exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of medicine and the use of advanced technologies. Special attention was given to the need to develop public healthcare systems and primary medical and sanitary care, ensuring sanitary-epidemiological safety.
As part of the International Medical Congress and the Cardiologists’ Conference, more than 40 thematic sessions and forums were held, attended by over 2,000 delegates from various countries.
The Congress concluded with the adoption of a final communiqué confirming the intention to continue cooperation on joint healthcare initiatives.
The first International Medical Congress of SCO member states was held on March 27–28, 2024, in Bishkek.
