In his speech at the opening ceremony, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, emphasized that the conference is intended to unite countries from various regions of the world that face similar problems, such as glacier melting, biodiversity loss, and degradation of mountain ecosystems.
Today, Bishkek is once again becoming a point of consolidation for countries and international organizations, as well as the mountain community, united by common aspirations and hopes.
SCO Deputy Secretary-General Janesh Kain informed the delegates about the measures being taken within the Organization to address regional and global environmental problems, and called for further consolidation of efforts and strengthening of partnerships in promoting the mountain agenda on multilateral platforms.
We support the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic to hold the “Bishkek+25” Summit and expect that its results will become a turning point in recognizing the significance of mountain territories on the international stage.
