On April 24, 2025, the first Meeting of the heads of antimonopoly authorities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was held in Moscow at the National Research University "Higher School of Economics" under the chairmanship of the Russia.

A detailed exchange of views took place on the trends in the development of competition policy and areas of importance for antimonopoly authorities, on which joint work of the SCO member states will be organized in the upcoming period.

During his speech, SCO Deputy Secretary-General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda noted that the activities of the launched mechanism of meetings of the heads of antimonopoly authorities of the Organization's member states should contribute to improving the living standards of the population, ensuring the availability of goods and services, stimulating the development of innovations and the creation of new jobs.

Following the event, the Regulation on the expert working group of the antimonopoly authorities of the SCO member states was approved and a decision was made to hold the second Meeting in 2026.
The new mechanism of the Meeting of the heads of antimonopoly authorities of the SCO member states was created in 2024 on the initiative of the Republic of Tajikistan.
