On April 22-23, 2025, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, under the chairmanship of the China, the 20th Meeting of the Chairpersons of the Supreme Courts of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states took place. The anniversary meeting was held under the motto "Promoting the 'Shanghai Spirit' and jointly creating a judicial cooperation platform that keeps pace with the times".
The event was attended by the heads of the Supreme Courts of the member states of the Organization, SCO dialogue partners - Azerbaijan and Turkey - as well as representatives of the Secretariat and the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure.
Interaction of the Supreme Courts of the SCO Member States
An in-depth exchange of views took place on a wide range of issues such as cyber-security management, the application of artificial intelligence, promoting the role of the judiciary in preventing and resolving conflicts and disputes, judicial protection of minors, and combating violent and terrorist crimes. Delegates expressed their intention to deepen cooperation among the Supreme Courts of the SCO member states.
In his speech, the Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO, Batir Tursunov, noted that the Organization is a unique platform for dialogue and cooperation, bringing together countries with different legal systems, while having common goals, including ensuring peace, stability, and prosperity in the Eurasian region.
As part of the program, a meeting was held with Chen Wenqin, a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Political-Legal Commission of the CPC Central Committee, along with the heads of delegations.
