On April 6, 2025, the closing ceremony of the football tournament "Cup of Victory" took place at the Russian diplomatic mission in Beijing, dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and World War II.

The tournament, organized through a joint initiative of the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Embassy of Russia in China, featured friendly matches between teams from the embassies of Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the SCO Secretariat. The finalists were teams from China and Russia.

During the awards ceremony for the winning team (the Embassy of Russia team), the Secretary-General of the SCO, Nurlan Yermekbayev, emphasized, alongside the Russian Federation Ambassador Igor Morgulov, that cultural and humanitarian ties, particularly in sports cooperation, are priority areas for collaboration within the Organisation.

The event was also attended by the heads of diplomatic missions from Belarus, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
