On 28 February 2025, a meeting took place at the SCO Secretariat between Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev and Fangchenggang Municipal Committee Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Huang Jiang.
During the discussions, Huang Jiang provided details on the upcoming International Medical Innovations Forum, scheduled for late April 2025. The forum aims to serve as a pivotal platform for sharing cutting-edge technologies and practical expertise in healthcare, as well as enhancing international collaboration in the field.
The SCO Secretary-General outlined the Organisation’s activities, with particular emphasis on cooperation in medicine and public health. He underscored that the Fangchenggang International Medical Opening-up Pilot Zone holds significant potential for advancing joint initiatives and implementing projects focused on developing innovative medical technologies and strengthening interaction among SCO member states.
Following the talks, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further constructive collaboration aimed at fostering partnerships in medicine, science, and innovation.
