On 24 February 2025, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Nurlan Yermekbayev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to China Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Dehaimi.
The Ambassador congratulated the Secretary-General on being appointed to his present post and expressed his country’s interest in studying the possibilities for greater Qatari involvement in cooperation within the SCO.
The Secretary-General informed his interlocutor about the latest SCO developments, including current efforts to upgrade and modernise SCO activities.
The parties discussed current issues of mutual interest and agreed to maintain close contacts.
