On 20 February 2025, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Nurlan Yermekbayev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the People’s Republic of China Kaid Slimane Lahcene.
The head of the diplomatic mission congratulated the Secretary-General on his recent appointment. He noted the growing influence of the Organisation in international affairs and stressed his country’s interest in intensifying cooperation within the SCO in addition to the already established strong bilateral relations with all member states of the Organisation.
The Secretary-General thanked the Ambassador for his interest in the Organisation’s activities, informed him of the latest events, and expressed his readiness to explore the prospects for deepening cooperation between the SCO and Algeria.
