On 19 February 2025, the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation hosted a meeting between Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev and Andrei Bykov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia.
The parties discussed potential areas for cooperation, primarily in the economic sector.
In particular, the head of the delegation outlined the Republic’s interest in joining infrastructure projects within the SCO, as well as participating in the Business Council’s activities. He also noted the possibility of attracting the Roscongress Foundation to organise congress and exhibition projects in SCO member countries.
The Secretary General expressed his gratitude for the initiatives, and agreed to discuss these proposals with the member states.
