On 13 February 2025, China chaired an online meeting of an expert group to prepare for the 4th Meeting of Heads of Ministries and Departments of the SCO Member States Responsible for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
Representatives of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology informed the participants that the upcoming Meeting of Heads of Ministries and Departments of the SCO Member States Responsible for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) would prioritise digitalisation in the interests of sustainable development and digital inclusivity. The officials voiced their readiness to work actively to promote technological innovations and encourage digital development in the interests of all SCO countries.
In his remarks, SCO Deputy Secretary-General Oleg Kopylov emphasised that the leaders consistently focus on expanding collaboration in the ICT sector. He underscored the importance of effectively implementing agreements reached by SCO member countries’ heads of state and at other levels to achieve tangible results in this vital area of work for the Organisation.
