Nurlan Yermekbayev, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, met with Ms Zuo Hongbo, Secretary-General of the Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship, and Cooperation Committee of the SCO (GNFCC SCO) on 10 February 2025 in Beijing
The head of the GNFCC congratulated the SCO Secretary-General on his appointment and reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to maintaining intensive interaction and strengthening cooperation between the SCO Secretariat and the Committee.
Nurlan Yermekbayev thanked the Chinese side for supporting the SCO’s activities and expressed readiness for further expansion of cooperation, and implementation of significant and mutually beneficial cultural and humanitarian projects.
The parties exchanged views on advancing practical cooperation in sports, education and health care, and discussed joint objectives as part of the SCO Year of Sustainable Development and ways to promote the “Qingdao, the SCO Tourism and Cultural Capital” brand.
