On 26 August 2024, Bangkok hosted a BFA roundtable on the theme Future of the World: From the Perspective of Asia. The SCO was represented by Councilor Behrooz Mokhtari, who addressed the panel on Multilateralism for a Better Future: Expectations and Solutions for Asia.

Upon outlining the main goals, principles and objectives pursued by the SCO as a trans-regional multilateral association, he stated its commitment to the idea of maintaining and strengthening peace, security and stability in Asia. He also emphasised that ensuring strategic stability and development of dialogue was the cornerstone of the SCO’s activity.
