SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming attends the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF)

On 15-16 June, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming attended the plenary session of the 26th St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and the session "Integration in the Name of Development: Practical Aspects of Cooperation under the SCO."

In his address, Zhang Ming touched upon the current international situation in the context of the response to global and regional threats and challenges, spoke about the status and prospects of practical cooperation among the member states in the field of transport, logistics and finance, and answered questions from the moderator.

On the sidelines of the SPIEF, the Secretary-General also had a brief meeting with Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Deputy Chairman - Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organising Committee, and exchanged greetings with First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich, UAE Supreme Council Member Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, and Chairman of the Board of Directors at the African Export-Import Bank Benedict Okey Oramah.

The Secretary-General also gave an interview to the Russia-24 TV channel on the sidelines of the forum.
