On 18 April 2023, the fourth meeting of the heads of the SCO environmental ministries and agencies took place, with India holding the chairmanship.
The meeting agenda included issues related to the status of and prospects for developing cooperation in the field of environmental protection within the SCO, including efforts to carry out the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Concept of Cooperation in Environmental Protection in the SCO Member States for 2022-2024.
A joint communiqué was approved at the end of the meeting.
