On 8-9 February, the India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL), which chairs the SCO Interbank Consortium, organised the Seminar on Capacity Building on Developing SCO Marquee Infrastructure via videoconference.
Attending the seminar were representatives of financial agencies and specialised departments from SCO member states.
During the meeting, the sides informed each other about a number of significant infrastructure projects being planned or implemented in the SCO region, as well as mechanisms for financing them.
The SCO Interbank Consortium was established under the Agreement on SCO Interbank Cooperation of 26 October 2005 and serves as a mechanism for financing investment projects in high-priority cooperation spheres, supported by the governments of SCO member states, and for providing the relevant bank services to these projects.
