В Ташкенте начал работу Совет национальных координаторов государств-членов ШОС
On 25 January 2022, a meeting of the SCO Council of National Coordinators began in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in the hybrid online/offline format.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fazilov, who delivered opening remarks, put forth Uzbekistan's views on and approaches to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the member states within the framework of Uzbekistan's SCO Presidency. He pointed out that Uzbekistan was scrupulously implementing its mission as the SCO President and was resolved to maintain a close and constructive relationship with the member states, the SCO Secretariat and the RATS Executive Committee.
Gayrat Fazilov congratulated the newly appointed SCO Secretary-General and Director of the RATS Executive Committee and wished them success in their new positions.
SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming said in his statement that he regarded his appointment to this post as a great honour and that he would do his best to live up to the expectations of the SCO heads of state under the SCO Charter and other fundamental documents of the organisation. "I intend to contribute to the further development of the SCO in my new position, uphold the interests of all member states and apply myself to the implementation of the organisation's agreements and policy documents," Zhang Ming pointed out.
Director of the RATS Executive Committee Ruslan Mirzayev said that the Executive Committee was resolved to provide all-round assistance to the success of SCO events held within the competence of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) as part of Uzbekistan's SCO Presidency.
The agenda of the SCO Council of National Coordinators' meeting includes issues related to the organisation of events scheduled for 2022, first of all a meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council in Uzbekistan, and other aspects of the organisation's current activities.
The meeting will continue until 28 January 2022.
The Council of National Coordinators coordinates current SCO activities and cooperation between ministries and agencies of the Organisation's member states.
The Republic of Uzbekistan is holding the rotating SCO Presidency in 2021-2022.
