On 22-23 April 2021, Tashkent hosted SCO foreign ministry news service consultations on the premises of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS). The consultations were chaired by Tajikistan.
For objective reasons, news service officials met in a mixed format, with India, China, Pakistan and the SCO Secretariat participating online.
The main item on the meeting agenda was discussing ways of cooperating and providing information support for the upcoming 20th anniversary of the organisation. The participants also discussed, in a constructive manner, issues relating to the coverage of the SCO Summit to be held in Dushanbe in September this year.
The SCO Secretariat delivered a report on its information-related activities over the three previous years.
The report contained information on the status of the SCO official website and accounts on popular social media sites and on cooperation with the media from SCO Family countries. The report also provided statistics from themed materials.
The consultations concluded with the signing of a Protocol, in which the parties gave a positive assessment of the Secretariat's information activities, describing them as comprehensive and effective work.
The meeting was held in a traditionally warm and friendly atmosphere.
