A regular meeting of the SCO Commission of Senior Officials in Charge of Trade and Economic Cooperation took place on 28-30 September 2020, chaired by India.
The agenda of the meeting included issues related to intellectual property, supporting small and medium-sized businesses, trade relations, measures to counter the COVID-19 pandemic as well as a draft action plan to implement the SCO Programme of Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation approved by the SCO Heads of Government Council in 2019 in Tashkent.
The Commission in particular focused on the preparations for the Council of External Trade and Economy Ministers of the SCO Member States as well as the agenda of the SCO Heads of Government Council scheduled to be held in the Republic of India.
The SCO Commission of Senior Officials in Charge of Trade and Economic Cooperation is a body within the Council of External Trade and Economy Ministers of the SCO Member States that is responsible for coordinating the fulfillment of the SCO Programme of Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation.
The SCO Commission of Senior Officials in Charge of Trade and Economic Cooperation coordinates ad hoc working groups on developing transit potential, promoting investment, e-commerce, modern information and communications technologies, facilitating trade and cooperation between customs agencies.
