On 21 March, SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov sent a message of greetings to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to wish him a happy 70th birthday.
The Secretary-General expressed his admiration for Sergei Lavrov's great professionalism and outstanding reputation in Russian and international diplomacy, as well as his principled and creative approach to solving complex regional and global problems.
In addition, Mr Norov pointed out Sergei Lavrov's efforts to reinvigorate the Russian foreign policy on Asia, including its Eurasian dimension.
The Secretary-General underscored the Foreign Minister's contribution to the SCO development, expansion of its global profile and promotion of multilateral cooperation.
