On 14 February, SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov held a meeting with Vice-Chairman of the Munich Security Conference Boris Ruge.
Mr Norov thanked Mr Ruge for inviting him to the conference and noted its importance as an international venue for debates on global security and stability. He stressed that the SCO Secretariat attached great importance to attending such major events as the Munich Security Conference where one has an opportunity to express the SCO's position on some of the most important issues on the global agenda in a maximally extensive and open manner.
Mr Ruge gave a positive assessment of the visit by the SCO Secretariat's delegation and pointed to its prospective importance for promoting an inclusive dialogue on the main significant problems in the world. He said that the SCO that listed among its members a number of leading world powers had a huge potential in terms of promoting trust between the key international players, including by hosting relevant expert events.
The meeting was held in a constructive and business-like atmosphere with the sides agreeing to maintain working contacts.
