On 1 October 2019, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang met with SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Li Keqiang warmly greeted Vladimir Norov and praised the rapid development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, which has become a major platform for the further development of the SCO member states' potential in trade, the economy, culture and humanitarian affairs.
The Chinese Premier also pointed out the active efforts being made by the SCO Secretariat to coordinate the organisation's multifaceted cooperation.
The SCO Secretary-General congratulated the Chinese Premier on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China and thanked him for his trust and his ongoing attention given to the strengthening of multifaceted cooperation within the SCO, which has become a vital and basic factor of the world system.
The officials discussed the attainment of ambitious goals set before the SCO and the initiatives its member states put forward at the SCO summit in Bishkek.
They noted the importance of the active work being carried out to prepare for the meeting of the SCO Heads of Government Council, which is scheduled to convene on 1-2 November 2019 in Tashkent.
Vladimir Norov thanked the Chinese Government for the favourable conditions it helped to create so that the SCO Secretariat could smoothly function.
Li Keqiang wished the SCO Secretary-General every success in his work.
