On 11 May 2018, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the People's Republic of China Damba Gankhuyag at the SCO Headquarters in Beijing.
Mr Alimov thanked the Mongolian side for the wonderful organisation of his official visit to Mongolia in late March 2018. The highly effective occasion produced substantial results. He also noted that permanent dialogue with Mongolian partners at various venues and in different formats within the SCO was a weighty factor of strengthening regional cooperation, and that it facilitated expanded relations between the SCO and Mongolia.
The Ambassador of Mongolia praised the results of Mr Alimov's visit to Ulan-Bator and confirmed the intention of his country to more actively participate in diverse intra-SCO cooperation, especially in the economic field.
During the conversation, the sides exchanged opinions on the status of and prospects for partnership activities with Mongolia as an SCO observer state in the context of the preparations for the upcoming meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council in Qingdao in June 2018 and the SCO Heads of Government Council in Dushanbe in the autumn of 2018.
The meeting passed in a warm-hearted and friendly atmosphere.
