On 19 October 2017, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov met with St Petersburg State University of Economics MBA students at the SCO headquarters in Beijing.
Mr Alimov provided the guests with detailed information on the establishment and development of the Organisation as a new type of association and an important factor in building the multipolar system of international relations. During the meeting, special attention was paid to the multidimensional cooperation in the SCO framework, its recent progress and future prospects.
The visitors showed great interest in a lecture on economic cooperation and Chinese labour law delivered by Wang Haiyan, professor at Renmin University of China and employee at the China National Petroleum Corporation's International Department.
Tatyana Urzhumtseva, Head of the Russia-Asia-Pacific Countries Centre at St Petersburg State University of Economics and head of the delegation, thanked the Secretary-General on behalf of the programme's students for the attention and support they received.
Vladimir Potapenko, SCO Deputy Secretary-General, also attended the meeting.
Visitors were also able to have a tour of SCO Secretariat, the SCO Charter Marble Hall and the national halls of SCO member countries.
