On 19 May, the SCO Ambassadors Club opened its latest session in Qingdao (Shandong Province, People's Republic of China).
The first event on the programme was a meeting of the Club participants with Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Qingdao Mayor Meng Fanli.
The meeting included a detailed conversation on issues related to developing and strengthening regional economic ties, creating favourable conditions for multi-partner economic projects, boosting investment activities and expanding trade and industrial cooperation.
Meng Fanli presented a thorough review of Qingdao's economic development dynamics and statistics on the volume of exports and imports passing through the city port.
Following the official part of the meeting, a reception was given for the high-level guests on behalf of the Mayor of Qingdao.
The SCO Ambassadors Club session agenda includes two days of official talks, tours of industrial facilities, logistics centres and meetings with representatives of the business community.
The SCO Ambassadors Club is an informal platform for meetings of heads of SCO diplomatic missions accredited in Beijing. The format has existed since 2014, helping to strengthen the SCO member states' multi-party dialogue and to find new ways to bolster multifaceted interaction within the SCO.
