A delegation of the SCO Secretariat led by SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov is attending the Sixth Moscow Conference on International Security, which is being held on 26-27 April 2017. Conference participants will discuss ways to maintain global and regional stability, combat the traditional and new threats and challenges and the state of global cooperation.
The key issues on the conference agenda include the fight against international terrorism and security in Europe and Asia Pacific. Panel discussions will focus on the fight against terrorism and radicalism, information security, ballistic missile defence and security in Central Asia.
The Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS) is a respected annual event sponsored by the Russian Defence Ministry to promote international military cooperation and discuss joint forms of dealing with new challenges and threats. The conference is attended by defence ministers and/or deputy ministers from Europe, Asia, America, the Middle East and Africa, senior officials from the UN, the SCO, the CIS, the CSTO, the OSCE and NATO, as well as representatives of academic communities and non-governmental experts.
