On 19 April 2017, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov met in Astana with Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Sagadiyev.
The officials discussed the current state of and prospects for SCO cooperation in the areas of education, science and technology.
