On 22 March 2017, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov met with Iraqi Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to China Ahmad Berwari at the SCO headquarters in Beijing.
The Iraqi Ambassador pointed out the growing importance of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and his country's desire to develop relations with it.
Rashid Alimov told Ahmad Berwari about SCO views on foreign relations and thanked him for his high assessment of the SCO's role and place in international affairs.
The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere.
