On April 23, 2026, the XVII International Forum "Innovative Development through the Intellectual Property Market" will take place within the framework of the United Nations International Days of Intellectual Property. The Forum is held with the support of the UN, the SCO, the CIS Executive Committee, the EEC EAEU, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, and Rossotrudnichestvo, and consistently brings together delegations from countries of the "Greater Eurasian Partnership."
The Forum program includes a plenary session titled "The Intellectual Property Market and National Competitiveness in the Digital Economy" and other theme sessions.
From the welcoming address by the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, Nurlan Yermekbayev, to the organizers and participants of the XVI Forum in 2025:
"The issues proposed for consideration reflect the steadily growing interest in the subject of intellectual property and its important role in forming a solid foundation for economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian development in today's dynamically changing world. The task of improving legal standards related to intellectual property issues is acquiring increasing importance in the SCO space. We consider the development of business contacts between scientific and educational circles, enterprises, and corporations involved in the circulation of intellectual property to be important and beneficial."
The Forum is open for in-person and online participation by representatives of education and science, government authorities, public organizations, and businesses.
