On 22 September 2024, on the sidelines of the Summit of Future, SCO Deputy Secretary General Nuran Niyazaliev met with UN Assistant Secretary-General Miroslav Jenča. Highly appreciating the outcomes of the 2024 SCO Summit in Astana and the UN Secretary-General's participation in the SCO+ meeting, the parties reaffirmed that the two organizations have common approaches and goals and uphold the active nature of cooperation. They also discussed plans to further strengthen interaction between the Secretariats of the two organizations, including joint events and leadership contacts.
