On 3 March 2025, a news conference was held in Dushanbe involving delegations of foreign observers who monitored the election of deputies of the Assembly of Representatives (Majlisi namoyandagon), part of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan (Majlisi Oli). Deputy SCO Secretary-General and Mission Head Piao Yangfan reported on the results of the Mission’s work.
The event participants stated that the expression of popular will met the requirements of the Republic of Tajikistan’s legislation and conformed to the country’s international obligations. The election was transparent, authentic and democratic. They emphasised the high level of organisation of the electoral process and the impressive civic responsibility demonstrated by the electorate.
On behalf of the Mission, Piao Yangfan congratulated the people of the Republic of Tajikistan on the successful election and wished them every success in their efforts to enhance the state’s independence, sovereignty and stable socio-economic development.
